What would you highlight about Iguana Hostel
Wonderful
Iguana is in a really nice location. The rooms are cozy and the temperature is perfect. The staff was very helpful when it came to pointing me in the direction of transportation and it's also right near the market where you can get multi serve mole dishes for just 50 pesos. And lots of other great street food.
The lockers are tiny (some of the smallest I encountered during the course of a VERY long trip throughout Latin America), so don't think about trying to fit a full bag into them. Just enough space for a laptop, camera, and fireproof wallet.

What would you highlight about Iguana Hostel
Incredible value private room
Chilled vibe and good facilities including filtered water. My private room was incredible value for a spacious room with two beds, plenty of plug sockets and comfy mattresses. The room also regulated temperature very well without any AC - it was naturally cool during the day when it was hot outside, and nice and warm at night when it was cold outside.
Pretty quiet when I was there, not many people around

Best hostel in San Cristobal!
Very relaxed vibe. Lots of space to chill. I was able to rest very well. Hot shower with good water pressure. Wifi worked well. I stayed in 3 different hostels in San Cristobal but this place was the best.

What would you highlight about Iguana Hostel
Above Average Hostel!
As soon as you enter the hostel you’re welcomed by the awesome group of volunteers here. Igauna Hostel is a lowkey, chill and quiet option located in a great part of town, close to everything. There is also plenty of great outdoor common space to unwind and relax. If you will be in San Cristobal for a longer period of time, they can also work with you in arranging a better price for extended stays of 2 weeks or more!
The only negatives are firstly that the rooms get insanely cold at night (this is coming from a Canadian used to temperatures well below 0 degrees) but they will provide you extra blankets on request, no problem. Second issue is just the lack of guests! The volunteers here are super chatty and sociable, but it would be nice to have a few different faces coming through the hostel. They deserve more guests here….
